In the French town of Menton they recently started their 79th annual Lemon Festival Citron. The quiet town on the French Riviera, known as the “Pearl of France” comes alive at dawn to begin the parade. During mid-February until March the streets will be alive with moving scenery full of 145 tons of fruit surrounded by confetti, dancers and deafening music. The festival has almost always been themed, starting up with the cartoon world in the 90′s: Disney, or Tin Tin, Pinocchio and moving onto the countries of the world in 2005. The theme of the festival this year is “The French regions.” It is expected that the festival will visit about 200 thousand people.
