Opening a wine bottle: No corkscrew, no problem (6 Photos)

This is an old French way to open a wine bottle sans corkscrew. Put the bottle inside a shoe and hit it several times against the wall. Allegedly, the cork will come out on its own.

I admit I have yet to test this out for myself. So if somebody manages to open a wine bottle using this method report it back, please. Oh, and don’t knock a hole into your wall testing it out. Good luck.
